‘Iran able to help S. Africa tackle energy challenges’

TEHRAN- In a meeting with head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA), South Africa’s ambassador to Iran announced that regarding the two sides’ trade ties, Iran can assist his country in overcoming its current energy challenges, the portal of ICCIMA reported.

Vika Mazwi Khumalo, who is the new South African ambassador to Tehran, underscored the vitality of expanding trade ties between the private sectors of the two countries in this meeting held at the place of ICCIMA on Tuesday.

The U. S. sanctions on Iran will definitely influence our business ties but there are also some opportunities yet,” Khumalo said.

To improve mutual ties, the ambassador also invited an Iranian trade delegation to visit his country.

During the meeting, ICCIMA Head Gholam-Hossein Shafeie, for his turn, called for planning expansion of mutual economic ties.

Iran and South Africa have implemented a joint telecommunication project and the cooperation can be developed to other sectors as well,” he said underlining the importance of making joint projects.
