TEHRAN – Iran Minerals Production and Supply Company signed a memorandum of understanding with Iran Mine House and a private company for developing six small-scaled gold and copper mines across the country, IRIB reported on Saturday.

According to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), the new mines are going to be developed following a program for revitalization, activation, and development of the country’s small-scaled mines.

The mentioned program has been proposed aiming for increasing employment, increasing mineral production, solving the issues regarding small-scaled mines, supporting processing and creating value added, and ultimately achieving the goals of resilient economy, as well as exploiting the country’s existing scientific and operational capacities and capabilities.

The mentioned mines are based in South Khorasan, Isfahan, West Azarbaijan and East Azarbaijan provinces.
