Iranian sitting volleyball teams win gold, silver medals

Iranian sitting volleyball teams win gold, silver medals

TEHRAN – Iran’s men’s and women’s sitting volleyball teams claimed gold and silver medal respectively at the 2018 Asian Para Games on Thursday.

The men’s team, six-time Paralympic champions, swept past China in straight sets 25-16, 25-14, 25-15 in the final match at the GBK Tennis Indoor.

Kazakhstan claimed the bronze medal after beating Iraq 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-19) in third place match.

Earlier on the day, the Iranian women’s team won the silver medal.

The women lost to Paralympic runners-up China 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-16) in the final match.

Japan came third, beating Indonesia 3-1 (25-17, 19-25, 25-17, 25-11) in the bronze medal match.
